One of those wearing civil clothes introduces himself as tax investigating officer and demands to see director of the enterprise. Aliens start to search cabinets, desks, computers, personal belongings of staff. They seal and take away system units, put folders with documents into bags and take them away as well. Events which are described above are a nightmare of any boss. However, there is no exaggeration. This is the way how searches are often conducted at business entities in Ukraine. The fact is that they can come to the company for some reason (for example, work with doubtful contractors) as well as for no special reason.

How it works in practice:

In 2016, a training was held for client N.
At the training we do not repeat for the employees of the client the articles of the Criminal Procedure Code, but give them a clear algorithm of actions and answer the questions: "What to do?", "What to say?", "How to behave?". And, which is very important - "How absolutely legal and painless to tell the investigator" no "in cases when his wishes are clearly contrary to the interests of the enterprise?".
It took literally several months, and the employees of this enterprise had the opportunity to apply this knowledge in practice when representatives of the tax militia came to them with a search.
What was the surprise of the operative group, when instead of the stunned and submissive "flock of sheep", as usually happens, they saw a calm and united team that can stand up for themselves, and each member knows what to do and what not to do. Thanks to the work of our lawyer who came to the search and the actions of the head and employees who were properly trained, it was possible to save the lion's share of the client's documents and assets from seizure, preventing the tax police from obtaining information that could be used against the client.
